The Gitschberg-Jochtal ski resort – on the sunny side of Val Pusteria.

The Gitschberg ski resort is at the beginning of Val Pusteria, above the village of Rio Pusteria and can be reach in 20 minutes from our hotel. The area is on a south facing upland between the Valles and Fundres valleys. The resort is accessed with a cableway from Maranza. The area is served by one cableway, two chairlifts and six ski lifts. There is a special children ski lift as well.
The Gitschberg resort has 25 kilometres of tracks divided according to degrees of difficulty into: 6 km easy, 18 km medium, 1 km difficult. There is a funpark with a skiing school for beginners just above Maranza.

The Gitschberg-Jochtal ski resort is perfect for families thanks to its clear and simple layout. Various mountain huts and restaurants have a selection of family tailored offers. Try out the tasty South Tyrolean specialties at the Gitsch or Pichler alpine huts. It is possible to leave most of these venues even after the resort’s ski lifting facilities have closed: so you can enjoy the food and the spectacular view of the Dolomites and Aurine Alps for longer… and, at times, as late in the season as early May …
