The “Dolce Vita” on the beautiful Lake Garda.
Italy’s largest lake, the Garda, is a favourite destination for a day trip. The north shore is only a short drive away from Terento along the Brennero motorway. The “Gardesana” coast road follows the entire coastline of the 370 square kilomters lake while several coast-to-coast boat services are available at various locations.
Lake Garda is a favourite destination for water sports. Climbing and mountain biking tours are available on the mountains overlooking the North coast. Several serviced beaches, with deckchairs and pedal boats function along the entire coast if you are keen to get a nice tan. Grapevines, olive and lemon trees grow in the near-Mediterranean mild climate of this region. The small holiday villages around the lake have a long history of traditions and crafts, well documented in numerous museums. Riva del Garda’s ‘Rocca’ and the famous Vittoriale museum, associated with poet Gabriele D’Annunzio in Gardone, are definitely worth a visit, as well as the ‘Villa Borghese’ on the Garda Island.
