Glorenza – The smallest city in South Tyrol

The idyllic city of Glorenza is located in sunny Val Venosta. The original city walls are exceptionally well preserved and divide the medieval town into an inner core and the outer part. The former is a maze of fascinating narrow alleyways, corners and niches giving the place a characteristic medieval charm. Around the city walls, with their watch-towers and communication trenches, you will find many other attractions such as the main city door, the Tubre Door in the western wall and the porticos.
Other notable attractions include the late gothic church of Saint Pancras, erected in 1481 with its baroque bulb shaped tower and an important 1496 fresco representing the Last Judgement. Traditional events include the San Bartholomew’s markets, the farmers’ market in August and the public market at the beginning of November. Don’t miss the charm of this fascinating city!
