Brunico – Val Pusteria’s pearl.
The characterful town of Brunico is located at the confluence of the Aurino and Rienza brooks not far from our 4* Terentnerhof hotel, in the middle of Val Pusteria.
Whichever direction you approach it from you will be greeted first thing by the enchanting medieval castle of Brunico, on the top of a small hill overlooking the city.
Whichever direction you approach it from you will be greeted first thing by the enchanting medieval castle of Brunico, on the top of a small hill overlooking the city.
The history of this castle, that current owner Reinhold Messner will open as a museum in 2010, is as rich as the history of the city of Brunico. Traces of this history can be found anywhere you look as you stroll or shop around the streets of the city centre. Walking on Brunico’s main shopping road on a sunny day, or sitting with a nice glass of South Tyrolean wine you will understand why they call this the pearl of Val Pusteria.
